Ever have those people, be it talking about cars or whatever, who were so close to being right but bungled it in the end? This is my latest encounter with such a person, as s/he consistently demonstrates one crucial flaw in their craigslist ad: the front wheel is supposed to be turned towards the sidestand side.

is it still standing? then he did it right enough for a picture on a craiglist ad. Its the same thing I run into on mt. bikes. The QR skwer is suppose to point back, but no on does it, and I don't give them crap for it. I laugh a little when they try and remove their front wheel when they've put it up against the shock body....but I don't correct them.

I don't bike, but why is the wheel supposed to be angles toward the side stand side?

It is a minor thing, especially for the purposes of a craigslist ad. I just needed a chuckle to distract from workplace idiocy.

Makes the bike more stable. It obviously stands up no matter which way the wheel is turned, but it's harder to knock it down some ways if the wheel angles left.

Pretty sure its a trans cooler fitting for a land cruiser.

I'm no bike rider either, but it seems like having the wheel turned the way he has it would be more stable. Seems like it wouldn't roll out as easily if pushed away from the stand side.
I have no real experience here though, could be wrong.

Doesn't the steering only lock when it's turned left?

...and you could tell that just from looking at it? Impressive.

Not sure, my experience is limited to only a GZ250 and a couple of Bimmers, but all of those lock to the left.

That's not even natural...You'd have to make a concerted effort to do it...weird.

Found out why. It has to do with parking on a hill, if they were locked to the right and it were to get mobile it would go out into traffic, with them locked to the left they should hit the curb.

I got out of the impression upon riding a Ducati (both a Monster -the same model of the one I dropped!- and that) and I wished that, as much as I want to like it, I wish they had more linear power starting from the low end.
