Always ALWAYS get clarification about whether or not a car you are buying or trading for has an insurance rebuilt title. For the love of many Gods or scientific unity theories in place of Gods. Do Not Overlook This
I almost got snared on a very good looking and driving LSJ Cobalt SS at a very reasonable price tonight. Enough to make a profit later when I got bored of it.
Was signing paperwork at the dude's house and saw "rebuilt" on the title/registration slip at the very last minute.
Freeze up. Like vampire seeing sunlight.
Asshole seller tried to explain it away as though it were no big deal. Text bombing from him before I hit the parking lot begging me to come back.
Nope nope NOPE.
Rebuilt titles, at least here, are the AIDS of the automotive buying and selling world. Once you get into one only divine intervention will get you out. Expect to die with the car or make negative returns on it's sale. Dealers won't look at them for trades, and private buyers can be very leery.
So if you are buying your first car and didnt know the difference, you now do. Don't buy a rebuilt title unless you want to live with it or never see a positive resale.

Yeah, asking if a car has a clean title is like the first thing you should do before even bothering to go look at it

I've bought both my cars with rebuilt titles. Obviously it should affect the price.

Many years ago, I knew an independent dealer who would take high end vehicles that were damaged but did NOT have salvaged/rebuilt titles, repair them at the appropriate dealerships, and re-sell them.
Once, he was on the news in an investigative report as he sold one of the cars. He fully disclosed everything about the repairs as he was being secretly filmed. The reporters were after the insurance company, who told the previous owners that the vehicle was totaled, but resold the vehicle with a clear title. He wasn't portrayed as the bad guy.
Always ask about the title (and confirm it's clear) and even go so far as to have a mechanic look over the vehicle.
