Nice, but you can make it Ricer with excessive amounts of modification.

I've always liked the looks of Preludes.

Kinja'd!!!1

*Sigh* Admittedly, I somewhat like these but they are rice. I prefer using the stock locations and replaced the bulbs with LEDS.

Kinja'd!!!

Or modifying the set you posted to accept LEDS as well.

Kinja'd!!!

The problem is, if you get the blacked-surrounding lights they'll look out of place on an otherwise stock car. They'd look better on a lightly modified, lowered, and faster Prelude than a stock one.

rice rice baby! I had these on my lude from the original owner. It was the first 'mod' i did. Went back to OEM. ALSO! Be aware the seals on the altezzas are not as good as oem, so make sure you go back in and put in new seals:

AND be aware the wiring may be altered. Because with the altezzas i had, the reverse and brake lights were swapped (since they are located in different spots in the taillight. So only after putting it all back together did i realize that my brake lights come on in reverse, and my reverse light came on when braking (or when i turned my running lights on, i forget).

Kinja'd!!!

Thats how the seals fit since i had to figure that out.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

See look at that! Which do you think is better. altezzas are not worth any money. Unless you get the for free, even then id probably not take them. After i took mine out, i threw them against the ground, so that no future lude could suffer the pain of having altezzas, and out with the trash they went.

Lastly. Glad to see another lude owner on here! Finally im not the only one with a 5th gen!

The prelude community would appreciate you sticking to oem. If you need another set of rear lights just look on the forums, people part out their cars all the time and you can score some for pretty cheap usually.

Also it wouldnt be a bad idea anyways to change out the seals in the tailights if you have never done them. Since mine were literally like crackers just falling apart. Im lucky i didnt have any water issues. I made a quick post on the forums of the ordeal. Its a pretty easy fix, so long as the guy before you didnt seal one tail light up with silicone!!!

http://www.preludepower.com/forums/showthr…

Also, if you havent already joined, id recommend joining that forum or any any of the other 2 forums (its basically all the same people between the 3) because they all have tons of info, and a super helpful community. Plus the classifieds have helped me score numerous parts so far.

Yes, i love the color. The only other paint i wanted more was EBP. But premium pearl white will do just fine.

You close enough for the tristate prelude meet in NY? Id love to see a pic of your prelude if you got one.

Nice! I personally would name it a girls name, but thats me haha.

Clean your lude!!! haha, these cars deserve to outshine the civics.

There is a huge community in the Houston area, as ive seen their meets draw out a lot of prelude owners.

First addition i would do is get yourself some of the JDM foglights. And what happened to the fender! o_O

I have plenty of excuses! Especially the fact that I drive to a dusty construction site. Wah. The fact that it is classier than the civic is the reason why I bought it. JDM Fogs you say? I'll look into it. Now, about the fender, previous owner had flaming dice sticker. I prefer fuzzy dice...

here are the exact fog lights i bought. From the same guy too. They are the OEM Honda foglights which were a JDM option. This is the best price youll ever find for a complete plug and play, brand new. Our cars come with a wire pre run, so that its a simple addition.

ALso, fair warning! Read up on the automatic transmissions in this car. Not to be a downer, but the majority have experienced many issues with this transmission.

Kinja'd!!!

Yeah. My tranny slips a bit, a delay of a second. I don't mind since I drive like a grandma. If I run it quick it usually happens on the highway. That set looks nice he he.... my main worries are the oil pan leak, power steering leak, o2 sensor fail and the vss that is shot. Although I did install a sound system this weekend... misplaced priorities I know but... Fleetwood Mac sounds heavenly with that pair of old school CVR's.

Kinja'd!!! MountainCommand > chilango
03/24/2014 at 13:35

Kinja'd!!!0

Dont blow that issue aside, for real. As far as i know, the auto transmissions were doomed from design. There is a mechanical fault that occurs no matter how new or old the trans is. Might consider a 5spd swap if you needed to keep that car for the long run.

My PS pump is leaking a tad at the moment too, and a new one from honda is like 300 bucks... so ive gotta find the stuff to rebuild it.

Make sure the oil pan leak is not actually an oil cooler o ring leak. When you remove the oil filter, there is that bolt with the threading for the filter. Behind that is an oring that can leak.

haha, a nice audio setup is key if you drive the car enough. I pretty much only listen to coldplay so the stock speakers are sufficient haha.

some material i always look back on from the forums:

I wanted to also say dont let the autotrans get you down. Do your best to maintain it and it can hold out. But you gotta keep your eyes/ears open for symptoms. Theres probably a thread on what you should do to maintain the AT.

Darnit, stop making me hate newjersey more than i already do. I need to move south. Preferably alabama, but texas would be okay haha. But thats a lot of sky, im jelly.

Kinja'd!!!

I havent looked into accord trans swaps, only because they run a different gearing ratio. Prelude is setup more for speed vs economy. All i know for sure, is that in the manual trans, you can swap in an accord 5th gear so that highway speeds dont require going into vtec haha.

btw, your wheels are reversed.

It may be just me.... but the snow kinda looks like a mullet. And we'll see later about that... I keep the tranny fluid always nearby should it be needed. It should hold out for a little more. Nice attention to detail man... I never noticed that at all.

Kinja'd!!! MountainCommand > chilango
03/24/2014 at 22:34

Kinja'd!!!0

I have heard that replacing the auto trans filter is a good idea too. So id look into what it takes to do that.

Oh OUR LUDES BURN OIL!

if you havent figured it out, please check your oil levels regularly. I burn about 1qt per 1000 miles. varies depending on how much vtec you use. Its not a problem, its just the design of our cylinder walls... You can read up about it if youre curious.

make sure you get your Tbelt, water pump, and auto tensioner done if its time. Obviously i cant stress enough the importance of that.

You will begin to notice the little things when you start passing other preludes. The sawblades on backwards are usually a biggie. Next youll start to notice everyones bumper gap. Your seems to be pretty tight like mine, so i applaud you. Be very careful if you take that bumper off becuase if you break a clip you could end up with this:

Kinja'd!!!

Sorry to bore you to death there haha. But i feel obligated to tell you everything ive learned thats critical to new ownership.

That was the reason we sold it in the end. the poor beast couldn't handle it (now she has the whole rear of a Saab wagon to chill in). That, and the smell of dog yack. Luckily for the car the next owner was a shop specialising in total stripdown and rebuild of 90s Jap coupes. Wish I could have seen how it turned out.
