Factory Special Edition gold pinstriping was found under several layers of paint and primer. This means the PO didn't bother peeling the pinstriping off when she painted (what a lazy woman). This also means glue was a whole lot better 33 years ago. Also, bumpers take forever to sand

Hmmm, sounds like a case of PO abusing the car. If she was going to do it, she should have done it right the first time.

Her laziness is why I'm restoring the car. She didn't mask a whole lot off, there were bugs trapped in the paint, any bondo was done terribly, she trashed the interior, ruined half of the body panels, and she swapped in the wrong brand of engine.

Jesus, somebody had no idea what She was doing.

Glad you saved it!

One of the best parts of DIY bodywork is finding and correcting other peoples "mistakes".

It's like, vehicular archaeology. That pinstriping probably hasn't seen the light of day since the Disco Era.
