I just got an email from a client asking about which dashcam to buy. I don't know much about them, but I know some of you do. I will probably send him this thread so links and prices along with your recommendations would be very helpful. (Camaro carpornz for your troubles)

Yeah I probably should have done a little bit of research, I get spoiled by the instant answers from Oppo sometimes. Thanks!

Happy to help! Someone on Oppo got one of those not too long ago and posted some night video that looked surprisingly good.

I recommend the Mini 0801 . Its easily the best you can get for the money. My dad and a bunch of my friends have that one in their cars, and I'll be upgrading to it when/if my current camera dies.

Check out Techmoan's review here:

I'd say that was the best you could buy months ago, there are better ones now. Check my other reply.

That's the one I got, but different numbers, 270 instead of 027. Something like that.
Here is some day driving DR120948:

And night driving:

Don't judge the night driving to harsh, there were no street lights from work to my house on the back road that goes from 4 lane divided to a 2 lane country highway.
What I like, I have it in the metro, so on an older car the cigarette lighter Outlet turns off with the ignition, so what the power cord loses power it auto shuts off.

What I don't really like is that I don't hardly remove the camera or card, so a lock feature for the files would be nice. so they don't get automatically deleted.

That looks like a huge improvement in form factor!

I run a GoPro with a suction cup mount. As a dashcam, it's acceptable. But its main advantage is its versatility. I can also use it motorcycling, quading, karting, tubing, etc.
