I suppose that makes an Elise a Toyota.

Nope what? Something has to power the car, and that would be a Honda engine, so I think it counts in the fact that it was a Honda as well as a McLaren.

I see your logic here, but Honda developed this engine for McLaren, right?

It's a McLaren. Not a Honda.
Honda didn t get Constructor points for it. Only unruly fanboys claim it as a Honda even if the engine was amazing

Honda was an engine supplier. They supplied excellent engines to whatever team paid. Doesn't make them a constructor.

I don't think it's fair saying that though because didn't Honda develop it specifically for McLaren?

Well, technically, it's a McLaren-Honda...
Or at least that's what Kyosho called it.

F1 cars are usually known by both constructor and engine supplier, hence the current McLaren-Mercedes, Marussia-Ferrari et al.

So Brembo (or whomever brake maker) can claim the car is a Brembo?
Nope, Honda was a supplier, even though they were a title sponsor

Sorry buddy, you just aren't going to win this argument. There are many many cases where the engine was provided by another company...but that's where it stops. See: McLaren F1, Pagani, any Cosworth-engined car, Audi S6, and so many others I don't even want to list them.

Cosworth might be a bad example there. Because a lot of them get referred to as Cossie's.

By your logic, does that makes a 1st gen Ford Taurus SHO a Yamaha???
No, it doesn't work like that.... sorry man.
