To say nothing of how much I wish a manual trans 105 existed in the US....especially with this engine.

Not hard to box up parts from down under and ship it on a boat! I'm lucky in Japan for sure.

not hard...not cheap either. Slee in the US here will do a solid axle conversion, or a manual swap, but you are looking at 50 grand for such a conversion...to say nothing of the engine, which we can't even register here legally.

A Canadian told me you can register them with a title company in Nebraska or something and then transfer the title to another state. Look up importing a diesel land cruiser from Canada and people talk about it. Get an engine and tranny that was supposed to go in that truck and it will be pretty easy, a few parts but they were made to fit. I met a guy in San Francisco with a diesel FJ60 from Canada, he had it brought down to Seattle by a dealer and did it, he did have some issues but he writes here:
