Get out of here with your aftermarket Alpine dash. The clickety clack gated manual can stay.

Ah. Well, in defense of you not seeing it this car is right down the street from where I live. So I'd have been terribly disappointed to find you'd been here with a Gallardo and didn't let me drive it meet you.

Hey, I just got an idea for an anime; "Gallardo Man." You and your cat drive a neon blue Gallardo around japan solving minor crimes.

Then suddenly you must fight a giant Gorilla with a guillotine in his gut.

Here's my list of demands.

1. Change the cat to a Basset Hound with sunglasses

2. Have me speak hilariously bad Engrish while everyone else speaks Japanese

3. Have this be my theme song with Gallardoman instead of Gatchaman.

4. You be a comedic relief detective who helps me (Think commissioner gordon from Batman)

5. Make the final 2 episodes so batshit crazy that it makes Evangelion look normal

With all these things I think we could have the best series...IN THE WORLD!

Doug DeMuro - starts looking for cars in the 50's ends up spending 100k? Lol. True enthusiast. I know you spent 20k+ more than your initial budget but this would have destroyed it.

I test drove this car two weeks ago.

It was good but not great. I'll type up a review when I'm at my desk later. Hard to do on mobile.

Your car is more livable. This car is faster but it would be really though to use a lot. You feel you're in a cave when driving it.

I think the open top Gallardos are the way to go. That way you can actually see behind you.

I vote Nice Price. I've compared it to prices across the country and it seems fair.

And the funny thing - I test drove this exact car a couple weeks ago. It's located a block from my work.

I found no faults with the car itself. And the sales guy was really cool. But it made me realize that a Gallardo coupe would not be for me.

The reason is that if I one day have the money to buy one I would want to be able to drive it a lot. I would want to commute in it when practical. I live under 5 miles from work so commuting wouldn't rack up the miles.

It would be totally fine as a weekend car. But I think it would be awkward to drive a lot. The rear visibility is just as bad as everyone says it is. The ergonomics are awkward but not as bad (IMO) as people say they are. But the complete package is not as nice to drive as a Ferrari 360 or F430. The cabin is smaller and the pedals are really close together. The stick is awesome but not as awesome as the stick and clutch setup in the 360/F430. The build quality seems higher than the 360/F430. But it still didn't feel as "special".

My opinion might be different if I drove a later Gallardo. I've read that Lambo made a lot of improvements starting with MY 2006 due to customer complaints about the 2004 and 2005 cars. The engine/exhaust weren't as loud as I expected, and that is one of the things that was supposed to be improved upon. I know you can always get an after market exhaust, but I still like giving my impressions of cars that are fully stock (which this one was).

Overall it was a great car, I just don't think I'd spend nearly $100K on it. The first time I test drove an F430 I got goosebumps and literally felt high for the next 24 hours. This car just didn't give me the tingles at all. And I don't think it's because I've become desensitized because the old man has an F430 and it still gives me goosebumps every time I get to drive it (which isn't often cause it has a reoccurring issue with the F1 transmission and spends most it's time on his rack, haha).

I'll message you if the old man ever resolves this damn F1 issue with the F430. Sometimes he lets me take it out on my own. Which he has to as I gave him money just to have that right...

He won't let me let anyone else drive it. You could be a passenger no prob
