!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is going viral (starting to peter out), but I don't know why. I would have assumed that it was referenced in a Jalopnik post, but I can't find anything. Do any of you know the source? UPDATE: it was a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Nevertheless, its good problem to have.

I think it was included in the essential F1 links post that was posted to the Front Page? maybe?
It also comes up first in my google search for "how much slower are F1 cars"

When engaging in unprotected prose, viral contractions are always a concern. Kinja is a known carrier of DTIs (Digitally transmitted diseases).
You can reduce the risk of DTIs by putting a pair of gloves on before prose, but nothing works at 100%. The only real protection is to not have prose with kinja, but none of us are really willing to do that.

What I don't understand is why Sploid didn't just link the oppo post? Why use a URL shortener instead of allowing your "Related story" thumbnail to appear in the story.
Kind of shitty if you ask me.

A 15,000 RPM redline in a F1 car is sad. A showroom stock Honda CBR600RR can do that.

Dunno but my guess is the Jalop connection...it was also a really good article and F1 fans are always looking to geek out on something.

You write good articles that have substance. I'm going to have to assume its gone viral because I told a few office mates to read it. You're welcome.

Maybe I don't understand F1 (or motorcycles), but if your redline is 15 grand wouldn't you have extremely little torque?

A CBR600RR has a turbo V6?

A naturally aspirated 600cc 4 cylinder

45 lb-ft is plenty to move 415 lbs.

The point remains, you can buy something that has a 15k rpm redline for less than the cost of a Nissan Versa brand new, that comes with a warranty and runs on pump gas.

That's at the wheel, btw. The bike costs $11,490 (1k more for ABS) and it''ll outrun a C6 Corvette ZR1 in the 1/4 mile. And that's the small engine. Are you beginning to understand why people ride motorcycles?

No, amazingly, I actually have my Motorcycle Endorsement! I think they are awesome, especially Hondas and Suzukis, well.....unless you have a passenger, it's cold or raining or dark out.

Probably the most accurate/informative story they have had all year.

loving the return of the Martini Livery... though I do wish it were bigger and more recognizable... next year, perhaps?
Would have preferred this rendering on the cars....
