Like nearly everyone civilized, I have a gmail account. I got it pretty early in gmail's life, so I've actually got first initial last name @ gmail.com.

I usually get emails for a fairly brand name opera vocal coach in New York. Sometimes I get stuff for a lawyer in DC. Tonight I got a bunch of photos of a large woman in a sparsely decorated apartment, under the subject line "what u missing"

I can only assume that someone with a name similar to mine just broke up with LaToria. I sent LaToria back a photo of me with Sir Jackie Stewart.

This is the funniest post in a while!

Now I wish I had taken something like john.smith@gmail.com as soon as gmail came out, even though my name isn't John Smith. Getting "what u missing" emails would be hilarious!

Hmmm....I have first name middle initial last name at gmail. Most people miss the "middle initial" part. I always wonder what JeffSimmons@gmail.com thinks of my life...

I heard there were lots of Nigerian investment opportunities back when Gmail first came out!

I have a similar but not quite as torrid story, for a while there I was getting emails from a nurse working for some charity in Africa, she was sending patient progress emails to a doctor with the same name as me. All attempts at emailing her saying that I was the wrong person seemed to be ignored.

Thankfully they weren't anything urgent, they were just for the doctor who'd gotten to know some patients who were recovering land-mine victims and wanted to be updated as he'd returned to his home country.

I found the doctor's correct email on myspace (that shows how long ago it was) and forwarded him the emails with her CC'd in on it. I deleted everything on my end and completely forgot about it until now.

There can't be too many people named C. Shoepilot out there.
This should be an easy find now...

My dad has a gmail similar to this, and he gets mail for 20 or so different people (he has a very common name).

All I get are ads for NSA* sex sites. (*lots of strings attached and also there's no sex because none of the people exist. At least that's my assumption.)

I have a last name where the final two letters correspond to a small country's TLD. I snapped up a domain from that country as soon as I realized I could and now everyone in my family has emails of firstname@lastna.me

People often don't believe it when we give them our email addresses.
