Thinking of a front stagger setup on my Camry...

Becuzracecar? I do plan to track it a bit this summer, and with the Tein supension bits on the way and the beefier RSB coming, it'll help it corner better, but, the stock wheel and tire combo will not help.

Thinking of going from the stock 205/65/15 size to either:

225/45/18 all around, 245/40/18 all around, OR the wildcard. 255/40's in the front and 225/45's in the back. Since it is the V6, its pretty front heavy, so this might help curb understeer, and make it handle less dreadfully.

Thoughts?

Reverse staggered setups on FWD are effective, but I'd probably recommend sticking with the same tires all around so you can continue to have your tires rotated as needed. 255 is wider rubber than I have on my 9 inch wide rear wheels though, so that's pretty badass to put that on a Camry.

Get some moon wheels and a stinger exhaust and a roof scoop, too, so you can maximize the performance-inspired non sequiturs.

Joking aside, I think you'd have to be pretty deep into competition before the advantages of a staggered Camry would be more benefit than you lose with the inability to do FR tire rotations.

That's a good call, considering that tire wear happens much faster on the front due to the weight... Gonna go for a 245/40 on an 8.5" wheel then.

That seems to be the general consensus, considering that tire rotations are important on FF cars considering the weight distribution.

Yeah, I remember how quickly I would burn through a set of tires on the front of my Jetta. I had to rotate very frequently.

Can I ask what generation Camry you have?
I'm assuming it's a Sedan, rather than the Solara?
