Still makes no sense that with all the models BMW is peddling, they still haven't brought back the 8-series. There's a massive gap between the 6-series and the RR Wraith

What is a modern 8-series supposed to be like? It can't be a modern take on what it was, that's for sure. The niche supported by the old 8-series is now supported by the 6-series, looking at physical size, layout, and performance options.
The 7 series is a big car. Since all of the cars get bigger as the left-most digit goes up, that means an 8-series would be bigger still.

I suppose the 6-series does fit into the size and layout of the 8, but it's not the flagship the 8 was.
Thinking more about this, I realized BMW will have the i8, which is kind of a flagship, so they've somewhat addressed it.
