Rain delay or not, that's not much of a crowd.

Maybe if the NC and TN Highway Patrols weren't so Gestapo-like in their enforcement over the weekend, more people would go...nah...but it would mean I wouldn't have to see one every couple of miles when coming home from visiting relatives in Asheville.

This is actually a race i would love to go to... I'm one of those crazies on oppo that enjoys nascar for being glorious sounding v8 cars stuffed on a track beating each other to the line. I like ovals because you can constantly follow your favorite racer around the track even at the bigger ones, and the variation from flat track to oval to asphalt vs concrete provides allot of different racing styles.
p.s sorry for the rant. I have great childhood memories of going to mis with my father and a couple other father son duos, getting up at 5 in morning to leave, tailgating for 4 hrs before the race and then burning to a crisp from the sun over the course of a 3-4 hr race that is at one of the most boring tracks on the circuit.

I would wager it has more to do with excessive ticket prices. That's why I didn't go.

Oh, not knocking the experience, but for decades the Bristol has been a sold-out phenon that pretty much told the locals 'get ESPN and be happy'. 45555
