I have a few days in Germany next week and am looking for any tips or advice from you all. Here's my current plan:
- Wednesday: arrive in Munich in the evening
- Thursday: BMW Welt in the morning, then grabbing a rental car (BMW 320i from Avis I think) and driving to Switzerland via at least a little unrestricted autobahn and along the border of Lichtenstein (one more country to cross off the list). I think we'll probably stay in Lucerne that evening
- Friday: drive to Stuttgart (with a stop at Hohenzollern castle)
- Saturday: Porsche museum in the morning (maybe Mercedes in the afternoon?) and return car by 4pm
I emailed Porsche about getting a factory tour on Saturday but since it's the weekend I think that's unlikely. What am I missing... what would you guys do? Wrong part of the country (and time of year?) to get to the 'Ring so that will have to wait. Any help appreciated!
Thanks!

Dude. You've got to tour the Glass Factory in Dresden.

Amazing, and I have to admit I had no idea they were still producing the Phaeton. Also tantalizingly close to when I'll be in Prague.

There's no Touristenfahrten on the Ring those days, just the sundays (16th/23rd). And from Stuttgart that's quite a drive indeed.
It's been quite warm in Europe so lots of passes in Bayern/Switzerland/Austria should be open, check Alpenpaesse for this. Sadly the Nufenen-pass is closed.
If your into history you could visit Berchtesgaden where Hitler's Berghof was. Great scenery as well (I really love that part of Europe!). But as I look at your schedule you'll be pretty busy, never did the factory museums, they're still on the wish-list.
From Switzerland to Stuttgart is mainly 'Freie Fahrt' so you could really put the pedal to the metal over there. Check this Speedlimit=map , the blue roads should be perfect for you.
