So I just now found out there is a 1.5 liter fusion for 2014. How did I find out? livernois performance is looking for a car to do testing on, this is some preliminary results (remember these numbers are at the wheels). Not too shabby... That is what? At least 135 hp/liter at the crank?
Let's see, after my tune+downpipes I'll be at ~450hp at the crank which is 129hp/liter out of my EB3.5...

Ford is notorious for under-rating these engines, it would seem. The 1.6L EB is generating well over 200 lbs of torque at the wheels so crnak torque is much higher. Even a conservative tune gets another 20 or so at the wheels. THey are little powerhouses for sure.

Ford should ditch the 2.5L and just use the Focus's 2.0L as their base engine

Hmm. Is the 2.0 of a newer generation of engines?

I think so.
The 2.5 has been around forever!

Yeah, I did not like it when I test drove a Fusion so-equipped. My dad has a Focus with the 2.0, he likes it very much. The car has been awesome for him (it's '12, I think).

isn't it still the bored out version of the 2.3 that was in the first fusion, ranger, and mazda's?
