After three rounds of WRC competition there seem to be two themes emerging: 1) the dominance of cars with a VW badge on the front, and 2) fantasy-ruining attrition. The aftermath of Rally Mexico sounds like part of the framework for a "12 Days of Christmas" parody song, with 12 cars a-starting, 8 cars retiring (Kubica, Mikkelsen, and Meeke retired twice, Hirvonen and Ostberg once), 5 daaaaamaged suspensions, 4 letter words from Meeke, 3 big rolls, 2 of them by Rob, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . At the end of it all it was once again Ogier winning the rally with teammate Latvala in second, more than a minute back. Neuville, Corona radiator and all, finished third and a whopping 5 minutes down on Ogier, proving that slower pace without problems is always better than becoming the fastest tricycle. The gaps get even more ridiculous from there, with only the top five within ten minutes of Ogier and tenth place Protasov finishing 28 minutes down.

So, how'd this all shake out for the fantasy league? Of 26 players this week 23 had at least one of their drivers fail to score points. Only Willkinton, Lumpy44, and Raphael Orlove (wait, what?) had all five of their drivers score points. Will's picks of Neuville and Guerra helped him win the week, beating out the three-way tie of JApexing, McNewbie, and Tell A Finn by eight points. In the overall standings Hoccy still leads by a comfortable 20 points, but behind him it's a rat's nest, with second through ninth separated by 19 points.

Here's how the top 10 looked after Rally Mexico. As always the full standings are on the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Top ten again! I think I may be screwed missing the first one for overall points though. Still might catch Orlove!

Where do you find the images for these articles? They make great wallpapers.

I'm sort of satisfied with this round, since I picked the fastest driver in all the teams. I was thinking about choosing Guerra over Mikkelsen, and in retrospect that would've been a better decision.. At least I got out of the hardest round with a decent result.

Yay, I scored the lowest with 25! But it was an unpredictable event anyway, who knew so many drivers would crash and Neuville would finish third with no speed what so ever?

Only use the nine best results on the season, remember? As long as you make picks for at least nine rounds missing early won't matter.

Usually I just gis the event, set date to within the past week (to keep from getting photos from previous years), and set size to "large." For the Sweden round though I managed to get my hands on a folder full of press photos from the event's and manufacturers' official photogs. 1.4 gigs of awesome :D

You've got the second best average right now, 2.5 fewer points per event than Hoccy, so it's definitely game on.

Is it too late to get in on this? 10 races left...

Not too late at all. We take everyone's nine best scores to determine the champ, so you can join in now and still get a mulligan round

So I definitely can't login on any other computer or my phone, and I don't know what to do. Should I create another burner account (I think that's what I'm on now)? Can I then change my name back to antmic? I don't want to lose my place in 5th!

Tiny Toy Viper was having login issues yesterday as well, I think Nobody sorted him out. IIRC the solution had to do with flipping tiger on/off. You can check with Nobody and see if he can help you as well. If you do need to create a new account I would suggest calling it something like "AntMic - The Return" or something that makes it clear it's still you. That way I'll know and make sure I add future points under the same name.

Yeah I don’t remember my password and apparently you can’t get it back. I will probably use your idea or Part Deux or something. Or I’ll use the Finnish name generator I just noticed. You’ll know its me.
