Maybe I am being a little biased since I digging out an old '59 but I do hope Lincoln can one day go back to its roots.

So they're saying Edsels vision was lost between 1998-2012? What about the 80's and 90's? I don't think a car company should ever disregard their previous vehicles. Just as the Town Car in the previous MKZ commercial.

The commercial is a bit of a lie but at least through the 60s and maybe 70s Lincoln was quite a great company. It's been downhill since there unfortunately.

Great video. Sad to see where they have gone. I owned a '65, what a car. You could play tennis inside it.

And the hood was probably longer than a Ping pong table. Great cars and great times.

I'm not sure about downhill, but they definitely changed direction. They were the same if not better than Cadillac through the 80's and 90's. Heck they didn't have any other competitors until the Germans and Japanese started moving in.
Lincoln made it clear of their target competitors recently and it was Buick and Lexus.
Cadillac went the way of the Germans. How I see it, there isn't enough room for Lincoln in that exclusive circle. For as much as I don't like seeing Lincoln be the elite it once was, I'm sure the market they're in will keep them alive.

If I time travel back to the 50's and show this photo to the designers at Lincoln, their reaction will make great reaction GIFs.
Lincoln's concept cars looked like this in the 50's. I don't know what happened there.

I am not even sure looks is the biggest problem. It is the shameful platform sharing that bothers me the most.
