Those seats look like bomber jackets :)
If it was £500 I'd offer to buy it and store it until you could import it, but I don't have that sort of scratch lying around.

It really is a unique looking car. It's nice that you go back far with Audi's, If only importing cars was easier.

eh I am already dragging over a Golf Country, but I really appreciate the offer. If I can sell a few more cars maybe I will end up getting a container and bringing a couple over

€2k is pretty expensive, for a 34 years old gypsy wagon with 218,500 km on the ass... such a car should be donated, not sold!

yeah man that was me at almost 17 years old right there. I loved that car so much. Stupid early Audi autoboxes killed most of those though

It's located in the Netherlands, which is a great market for these types of cars. Why? Because we used to have the rule that 25+ year old cars were tax free. Lots of these cars were imported into the Netherlands when they were 25 years old. This was changed 1-1-2014 to 40 years. Suddenly the owners of all these cars needed to pay ownership taxes again, causing values to plummet and these cars being offered for sale in great numbers. For reference: ownership tax on this Audi would be €788 ($1100) a year. Had it been a diesel with the same weight: €1504 ($2100) a year. With a gasoline powered car you can get a historic registration for 25-39 year old vehicles lowering these taxes to €120 a year, but you won't be allowed to use it in winter.
So to summarize, if you're looking for a German barge from 1980-1986, look at the Dutch market. Especially if you're looking for a diesel.

Nice story! That recall really screwed Audi's reputation, damn automatics. I've always had a thing with Audi and Vw, When the S8 came out in 1996. I'd never wanted anything so badly Haha. Then I was introduced to older Audis, by the Audi sport Quattro, I wanted that. I finally bought an Audi, but restoring a classic is sort of a dream of mine.

I wrecked a ur-quattro I owned, that was a very sad day for me in audi land. I had a 2 year old A4 in the early 2000s which was the newest car I ever owned. Piece of junk! 2.8 auto quattro. They are much better now

My Peugeot that's been converted to LPG gas €95 ($132). A month. As an added bonus I can run a fuel which ends up being as dirt cheap as US market gasoline, so at least there's that. For tiny cars with low weight the tax is something like €20 a month.
But as you can imagine after the loophole was closed the cars that were bought to dodge taxes are being dumped on the market now. Which gives someone like you great opportunities.

To clarify and not move behind his back: my suggestion is about sharing (and thus reducing) shipping costs only.

130K miles on LPG is a lot. Really! The advertisement also stated that the normal injection system (LPG cars can still run on normal fuel) doesn't work, mirror missing, cut in upholstery of the driver door, vacuumpump for central locking doesn't work, 'some rust', back-door on the right is not opening well, needs new exhaust: never mind!
