Back in the day one of my roommates bought the very first Asus Eee PC with a 7" screen surrounded by a huge bezel and running some stripped down Linux distro. Me and my other roommate used to make fun of it by saying "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" in really high pitched, falsetto voices.

I got one as well at the time. It served its purpose, I ended up giving it to somebody who needed a portable computer for notes.

Was it hard? Windows 8 on my laptop sort of sucks. I've also always wanted to do that.

It originally came with 7, and was too sluggish. I've used various Linux distros, only to return due to graphics problems.

as long as you have a disk image and a usb drive, it should be as easy as using a CD. the previous version of my netbook ran XP, and they changed to 7 for some features I can live without.
