Development video for my generation of ML. Really cool stuff, and I want some of the bits that those prototype cars had.

My friend has a 2001 ML430... some of the panel gaps are large enough to fit your fingers through. xD

But it's pretty cool otherwise. Only body-on-frame ML :)

30 seconds in and it's one of the most 90's videos I've ever seen.

So 90's it hurts.

What were we thinking back then? I mean, I was a child, but I remember it.

I drove one for a month, I remember the interior rattling and falling apart. Oh and the numb steering. First Benz built in the U.S if I'm right? Maybe that's the reason.

So was I, but a lo of my professors are now using 90's videos (like I assume they've been doing for years) so I just laugh a lot.

"Wow I'm surprised it took so look for the paralyzed kid to show up."

-me.

At the air museum I volunteer at they play old IMAX movies in the kids play area. One came on the other day that I actually remember seeing when I was a kid in 1996. The quality and production were actually very good, but when you saw crowds of people at airshows in the video? *shudders* so 90s...

So much 90's it hurts.

EDIT: Wow I just copied JayHawk's comment verbatim. Nice.

Yes, the panel gaps are not good on this car. Mine has some pretty abysmal panel gaps as well.

Yep, I love my car regardless of this. It's nice enough.

What year was it? And when did you drive it? The interior on my car is pretty decent and quiet and I actually think the steering is much nicer than most SUVs I have driven.

I'm pretty sure it was a 98, and it had to have been 4 years ago or so (holy sh** time flies).

I just remember the dash making a bunch of noise over bumps, the whole car didn't feel solid to me. It was slow as piss too. I was also driving an Escape at the time. It probably wasn't a fair comparison being unibody etc. but the Escape was a lot better to drive.

Cool car regardless and I'll always have a soft spot for them.

My 270 is an Austrian built example
panel gap is average especially at the rear bumper, but no rattles so far 145,000kms (90,000 miles)
