"MotoArigato" (MotoArigato)

UPDATE: If you don't want to scroll the comments for the full backstory, the quick version for Firefox users is to always allow "third party cookies", not just "allow cookies" or only for visited sites, tho I have no idea why it won't work on iPad now or Safari, but at least I'm back in the game y'all!
(Below is my original description of the problem and how I at least managed access to my Opposite lock blog.)
Just a little note of hope here for anyone who may be having similar trouble logging in to their existing account after the recent changes to Kinja, but in my case, my issue resolved itself just now.
Since the Kinja change, I have been unable to use my login info (I use Burner) to comment or post, I would login, it would confirm that I was logged in, but if I went to recommend, comment, etc., it again said I needed to login. I could do this obver and over again and I would not stay logged in. This happened on every device I used from MacBook to iPad and across various browsers, I tried Safari and Firefox. I even tried logging in through Gawker or i09, no luck there either.
While randomly reading articles, I finally got a new login window I hadn't seen before, the design was slightly different so I figured it was part of the new update, but it was asking me to create a new Kinja account. I tried using my user name "MotoArigato" and it said it was already in use, but after this happened my very next login attempt was successful. I don't know if it will keep me logged it, etc., yet but that's how I managed to get back into Kinja.

Exact same thing happened to me last month. For the life of me everything I tried didn't work (but worked fine on my other devices and computers), stopped trying to log in for two days on this computer, tried again on the off chance it may work and sure enough, has been working fine since.
Thanks to 'Gawker help' for all the suggestions though, it was appreciated.

I can't seem to get any account to "stick". My password stopped working, and it wouldn't work on any browser. I tried creating a couple of new accounts, and then tried logging in on another computer. No luck. I guess I'll just create a new account every time I want to comment.

This is very odd but this is the first access I've had since I made that post. I emailed the kinja and gawker "help" folks but got no reply. I hope you got your issue fixed but I finally asked a friend if I could use his ipad to try and login and I was able to this time and saw your reply. Still can't login from my own computer on any browser so I need to figure that out somehow. A frustrating lack of info online about our issue.

3-28-14 update: I again lost access that I was able to briefly gain by logging in through an iPad. I eventually created a whole new user account on my computer to start fresh with a new Firefox download, and am presently able to post, but if you don't see another mention from me then that failed too.
Crazy part is I keep emailing support and literally get zero replies, thanks guys, keep earning that tech support paycheck!

3-28-14 2.0 Update: I finally got a reply from Kinja Tech after submitting another new inquiry and got a quick reply this time. It seems I was not allowing "third party cookies" which has never caused an issue before on any site in the several years I have had it enabled but apparently this was the cause of my Kinja issues.
I hope this helps others!

I realize this is an older discussion, but I just had this experience in Firefox. I could not login to Kinja (the new login window did nothing), but I remember installing a tracking-cookie-blocking extension that was the culprit. "Privacy Badger" is doing its job, and when set to allow kinja.com's cookies, my login returned.
Probably something to look into if others have a similar problem.

Is it possible to whitelist just the cookies they need? Do you know which ones they are? At the moment I only found the setting to allow all 3rd party cookies.
It'd be nice if they included this on their burner FAQs, and even nicer if it wasn't necessary.

Rather than reinstalling firefox I would suggest you try clearing your cache fully. (If you don’t remember burner accnt info and didnt write down, then it will be lost forever if you do this)
Make sure IE, FF, CHrome et al is closed, then go to Start>Control Panel>Internet Options>click “Delete” button and ensure everything has a check mark beside it, except the first box that says “do not deleted my favorites”, as you in fact want to delete them.

I’m currently using a burner account.
I lost access to my main blog at ‘hotscot.kinja.com’ after cancelling my Facebook account.
I set up a new account at ‘hotscot-.kinja.com’ so I could at least post.
Apparently nothing can be done to access my original account? Nothing at all? Seems an unwieldy system.

Using Chrome, you get a small indicator on the right side of the URL bar that shows when cookies are being blocked. I scrolled down and added lifehacker.com and kinja.com to the allowed cookie list, and I can log into Kinja fine now after a year or two of issues.

I hate this so much. I’ve pretty much given up on all the publications in the Kinja family because logging on is a Sisyphean task.

I have found that it is easier if you keep the login info on your password manager, on my MacBook anyway. Hope that gives some relief.

I could never log in with my burner from my phone for YEARS. I enabled cross site tracking, tried to post and it didn’t work. I googled and found this post, tried to comment, for a blank page with only a close windows X in the corner. Tried to log in using the profile button at the top and if you can read this...

I discovered that Chrome is the only way I can log on. Thru a Facebook link or in S afari the log on buttons don’t even work. It’s insane how they just won’t address it and fix it.
