Retro shouldn't limit itself to muscle cars (Camaro, Mustang, Challenger) and economy cars (Mini, 500, Beetle).

If Lincoln had put this in the road in 2005-2006, it would have made an end-run around the 300C's "gangster nostalgia" vibe, and likely Lincoln would be in a stronger place today. I fear that window has closed, and Lincoln is pretty much a lost cause.

Eh, I guess I could see that... I see it as more of a possible evolution had the 300sl continued production rather than a throwback, though. I just don't get that same feeling as when I see the ones I listed above.
