It's not about practice, it's about sponsorships. In order to give guys like Ryan Blaney some NNS races, the 22 runs Kes And Logano to get the sponsorship from discount tire. Brings money and attention to the lower tier series.

I do mind Cup drivers driving for Cup teams in Nationwide.

The way things look now, F1 is the new GP2 and vice versa - as far as racing pace might be concerned.

At that level, I don't think it would benefit the driver or the team. If anything, it would help GP2's ratings.
F1 would benefit most from seat time in their car.

I used to be OK with it, but these days watching cup drivers win every NNS race reminds me of seniors roaming the halls beating up on the freshmen.
