I own an AC Hydraulics floor jack. They are made in Denmark. It needs the seals replaced and an oil top up. Today is the day I decided to fix it. I printed out the manual and drawings and retired to the garage. An early step said to "keep the lever vertical and block the piston with a nail or screw."

I re-read the instructions a bunch of times, and tried to follow them. This is an impossible task. Just out of curiosity I took the Danish instructions and dropped them into Google translate.

"Keep the handle horizontal"

NICE PROOFREADING GUYS. That's kind of a major difference. Also, they say "a nail or screw" but actually mean "a piece of 5mm drill rod" because that piston has a MOTHER of a spring behind it.

Heh. I bought this jack SPECIFICALLY because it was NOT made in China.

If you're looking for a non-Chinese floor jack, Hein-Werner makes them in the USA again. My dad picked one up and it's pretty damn nice.
