I flew out of Atlanta the other day and was able to capture this quick picture of Porsche's new HQ under construction. There will be a race track, go kart track and off-road circuit on the facility.

Why Atlanta? Such a backwards city. Austin would have been GREAT.

First, Atlanta has been their home for some time. They are just moving into new digs.
Second, Atlanta has a good art, music, food scene. Plenty of theater and some great museums.
Third, Atlanta is home to a good number of big companies including Coke, UPS, Home Depot, Aflec, Triumph Motorcycles and a number of banks. Porsche does business with these folks.
Fourth, Atlanta is a major transportation hub and is near two of the major ports, Savannah and Charleston, where cars enter the country.
Fifth, don't confuse Atlanta with the rest of the south. It is very metropolitan and fairly progressive.
Finally, while Austin is a fine city, not everything needs to be there.

Where in Atlanta is this? Guessing not far from their current building on Hammond?

It's next to the airport off of 75 where the Ford plant used to be.

I know its modern, but it is still backwards based on most the people I know from there...
Mostly, I just hate Atlanta. Austin is so nice, and clean and fun.
