… led me to thinking about how Jeep doesn't make a bad product now. Does anyone else have a better line up?
It seems like a lot car company make a lot of good cars, but always have a dud or two hanging around. I'm looking at you Ford Expedition. Just for the sake of conversation lets leave out the luxury & exotic brands like JLR, BMW, Ferrari, etc. It's easy to make a good car when you charge a ton of money for it, keep it mainstream.
EDIT: TL;DR - cheap brands only, harder to make good cars on a budget.

Oh shit.
Jeep is a really good car company!

It's impossible to have a bad lineup when you sell the Wrangler

Any FWD jeep totally nullifies that argument.
My vote would be Pagani.

That's a pretty bold claim to make, considering that before 1970, all Jeeps were basically military-grade off road vehicles.
I'd rather take the 80s lineup of CJ-5, Wagoneer, and SJ Cherokee.
EDIT: Wait, nevermind, you mean the best compared to other companies right now, not the best Jeep lineup. It's pretty close, I still think the Audi lineup is the best in terms of consistency, but they're also getting boring.

Ehh the Cherokee still seems like a good SUV and there is always is the Trailhawk.
Also TLDR - cheap brands only.

Audi charges a good amount for their cars though, they better be good cars.

So of course this just prompted me to look and see what 12-13 GC SRT8's are bringing. Holy hell.

Ehh I have no need for a SUV, and I'll pick sports car over off road most days. But those other days …. I really, really want a Rubicon.

Subaru...best overall lineup. Top safety picks, top reliability picks, and they make hoon machines.

I have to disagree with the "best lineup" claim. They don't even make a car. I will agree that most of their vehicles are good. Best lineup is a real stretch though, in my opinion.

So I was going to say something along the lines of - "60k right? that is expensive but the GC starts at like 30k, and all versions do good in reviews."
So close …. 29-63k. But I still feel the same way.

Still it does well against the competition at any price though. I.E. 50k GC vs 50k Touareg, Jeep wins hands down.

Yeah the Outback is a little long in the tooth but it is still a good wagony-crossover-thingy. Just got a 3.6 R Limited for a client, it has paddle shifters, LOL.

Counter point - Lamborghini makes half as many cars as Ferrari but that doesn't discredit their lineup/brand.

Ha, and yea I'm sure its a good car, I said "you're right" after all. I just don't like the styling, but thats a personal thing.

But when you charge a million+ for your cars they better be good.

I'm not saying Jeep isnt a good brand. To me, "best lineup" means that it covers all customers needs. Jeep, Ferrari, and Lamborghini are all niche brands. If I want a supercar, Ferrari is a great option. If I want something I can afford, Ferrari is not a good option. If I want a sports car, a luxury cruiser, a convertible or a truck... Jeep is not an option. To me, that makes it hard for them to have the best lineup.

Fair point. Just makes it a little too spendy in the ongoing quarterlifecrisis game of, "hmmm, should I get that?"

I get what you're saying, like how Ford, Chevy or even Mercedes have a lot harder job to do keeping all their cars relevant. But that discredits a lot of brands like Subaru, Acura, Skoda, Buick, etc. that are still relevant though.

Gather round for my daily hour of flag-waving :
I'd argue Peugeot has one of the best lineups around, they simply don't make a bad car. Hear me out :
New 108 : it's a Toyota. It'll be very good.
208 : good. 208 GTi : great.
2008 : selling by the bucketload. Gotta be a reason for that.
308 : European car of the Year.
3008 : a bit old but has had a lot of sales success.
508 : a bit old too but great.
5008 : basically a Citroën C4 Picasso, so the best MPV money can buy.
RCZ : great. RCZ R : the stuff of dreams.
The 4008 doesn't exist. You've never heard of it, it's an illusion.
See ? Not one bad car, I tell you ! If only the same could be said of Citroën...

I feel like you might be misunderstanding my point. I'm not trying to discredit any brands. I'm saying MY idea of the best lineup is a full lineup. Acura offers many choices, as does Buick. I know very little of Skoda and as long as you want AWD Subaru is a great choice. I think having the best lineup means that whatever type of vehicle I want, I can get it from that brand.

Err well now I am confused because you did just say this "…. sports car, a luxury cruiser, a convertible or a truck…" and both Acura & Buick only sell 3 sedans and 2 SUVs (acura sells 4 now but they are going to 3). So they aren't giving you a plethora of options by any means.

Why would anyone say something bad about Citroen? They've gotta be my favorite forbidden fruit brand.

I love Citroën, but their lineup isn't fantastic right now. Hopefully it'll improve. Time for another list ! (You don't have to read it, I just like doing this)
New C1 : same as the 108, a trusty Toyota.
C3 : not very good, and doesn't sell.
C4 : good enough but oh god so boring.
C4 Picasso : probably the best car they make.
C4 Cactus : probably the best car they don't make just yet.
C4 Aircross : a Mitsubishi SUV with a Citroën badge. Why would you want that ?
C5 : good (and the last Citroën with hydropneumatic suspension) but really old now.
C6 : oh... right. Forgot. Moving on.
DS3 : why buy a Mini ?
DS4 : interesting, but far from being a success.
DS5 : gorgeous, special, luxurious, terrible suspension.
Ok, maybe it's not that bad after all.

I also said that they offered many choices and that Subaru has great AWD vehicles. I didn't say they had full lineups or the best lineup. I was saying they are good brands... just like Jeep. They don't offer trucks or (RWD) sports cars. Acura has no convertibles and I don't think Buick does either. I think Acura has an aversion to technology for some reason and Buick can't shake the 'old people' image. I didn't mention these brands, you did. I pointed out strengths of these brands to show that I do appreciate them. As I already stated though, my idea of the best lineup is a lineup that has something for (almost) everybody.

I do to, that's why I said it's better than a Mini, as for the C6 unfortunately they no longer make it and there's no direct replacement coming for now.
