Guys, I'm officially a dad. Very happy and very tired dad.
That's why I was very absent here for the last week.

You made it through the first week!!

Seriously though, congratulations!
And I don't care how tough you think you are, that little girl will have you by the heart strings for the rest of your life. I know my two daughters do, and I'm a cold and heartless bastard.

Congrats! Welcome to the Oppo Dads club! We don't have cookies, but we might be persuaded to give up one of our Hot Wheels.

My son turned 17 months a couple days ago. I have some observations to share with you.

1) No matter how much work you think it is going to be being a parent it'll be more work. Nothing can possibly prepare you for how much work it is being a parent. it is all worth it most of the time :)

2) The first 8-10 months or so while they are completely dependent on you become very exhausting very fast. However, after they start walking and start doing stuff it gets really awesome really fast.

3) Take any hand-outs, hand-me-downs, or free clothes you can get. They wear clothes for 3 months and then they don't fit any more. New crap still costs the same as the stuff you and I wear and is a total money pit.

4) Zipper sleepers are your friend. Try changing a diaper at 3am and then buttoning up 10 little snaps. F that.

5) Congrats!
