Kinja'd!!!

Well, everybody start restocking your nuclear bunkers with food, WW3 could be upon us. But anyways, as you may or may not know, I want to get a Yugo because it is cheap, and easy to work on as a project car, and would be a great senior project. What would be a good price for a yugo? $50, $200, $500? What are they even worth. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

$299, since that's the going rate in it's home country!
seriously though, $850 is about what you should give for one in the US

looks like a decent offer would be between $500-$1k. start at $350 and let him walk you up as much as you're willing. both parties enjoy those transactions.

Yeah, that seem like what i'm going to do. But hopefully I can save up that much by the time I need the car for my senior project.

I wish I could get one for $299. I'm hoping to find one for around $500

Swap a VW TDI in there, since the engine is bad. It'll probably still produce more power.

I'm just gonna go to pick n pull. They'll sell you a block for $179, and pistons for like $30 a piece. What would a just pulled VW TDI be?

I'm not sure, I'm guessing within the $400-1000 range.

I've seen pulled Mazda KLZE's for $800.

It's pretty solid, doesn't even have the usual lower-hatch rust. And it's complete. The engine is fairly stone-age, not hard to rebuild but you have to take it out from under the car. As these are getting hard to find, I'd give it a go as you're not likely to find a better one. See how far you can talk him down. If you get it for 500 it's a steal, 800 would still be pretty fair.

See if you can find a Fiat Strada or X1/9 1500 engine. More power makes these things a lot more entertaining, and it's a bolt-in.

I do not want to deal with rust, like...at all!
