DC checking in. We got about 5" where I am.

Federal Government was shut down, so were schools and many firms/offices decided to stay closed today as well.

Looking at lows in the single digits. tonight. Could make it interesting tomorrow morning.

DC area as well. About 6 inches here. Not looking forward to the massive delays on the Red Line tomorrow, nor am I looking forward to the ice situation. A low of 5-9 is not cold for some on Oppo, but it's KOLD AS PHUK for here.

Time to dress like a warm villain.

85 in the street, and a 87 Wolfsburg in the driveway.

No Northern Virginia neighborhood has a heavy T3 population. You have to go a little further south to find that.

oh yeah just realized you had the small VW emblem in the front, duh. They using salt to deal with the ice and snow, or just sand/ gravel. Clean those seams up after the storm if salt!

I went into work today. Total in the city was probably 3 - 3.5" Haven't got the measuring tape out. Was fun to hoon the land cruiser like a rally car in the deserted streets.

I think an autocross would be awesome. I know a few guys that would probably come out. Bring a grill, some (non-alcoholic) drinks, a tent for shade and do a meet up/autocross/hangout. I don't know if there are rules about that, we should check with the dc autocross governing authorities.

Wish we could get a snow day for a mere 5". Isn't snow in DC a pretty regular occurrence?
Been about 7 years since we last got a snow day, took about 20" in under 24 hours to get it. Say we get 10" twice two days apart, that's just Monday and Wednesday.

Snow isn't really that common here. An inch here, and inch there... We see more freezing "winter mix" storms here. The ground usually isn't cold enough when it starts snowing for anything to stick. This year has been unusual. I think I've been home 3 days this winter because of snow.

That would be really fun! I bet we could get 25+ people there, so it would probably be pretty interesting. We can start laying down plans pretty soon—maybe I'll post one more DC-area feeler.
