You know, the cheapest car I've ever bought (by some margin) is the only car I haven't had to change the water pump on. Whelp either way just ordered it, hope it warms up by next weekend.
Luckily Mercedes put their 3.2 into everything and the V8's even share parts with the V6's so it was cheap. #WishMeLuck&UnbloodyKnuckles

Never worked on a Merc myself, but that looks like a pretty easy replacement. I've replaced far too many water pumps, but those on longitudinally-mounted engines were always *so* much easier to replace. In a Honda Civic, you actually have to lift the engine and remove one of the motor mounts to get to it. Good luck on yours!

VW used to plan ahead and put in an access door on their four cylinder Mk3 models to get at the water pump and timing belt. Good luck to the poor bastards who have a VR6 though.

According to the forums it should only take a few hours, and luckily I've only ever had to do them on a Jeep or Lexus … the idea of changing one a FWD car scares me.
