Anybody happen to have an old-style double-post cassette deck sitting around gathering dust? Trying to find one for my '82 Alfa. Something that looks more or less period correct. Do NOT want to spend much (if any) $$$. eBay and CL are not being very helpful.

Should not be too hard to find one. My 98 Subaru has a cassette, stock.

I have an '80 Pioneer (or Kenwood???) car audio system somewhere in my cellar. It's silver, similar to the one in the picture. It's a tape deck (Din-size), an equalizer (slightly smaller than Din), and two amplifiers (one for the front speakers, one for the back). If you are interested, I can take some pics of it tomorrow. The last time it was in a car it worked fine, except that the amplifier for the back took a minute or so to get to temperature before working, but then it was fine. You can have it for free, if that's something you are interested in.

Ooh. That's pretty sweet! The console would require some modification but it might work. If you can, and no rush whatsoever, could you get the exact dimensions? The GTV6's stereo console is really funky, which is why I'm having so much difficulty finding something that works. Either way, much appreciated!

I've just been in the cellar. It's a war zone down there. I remember where I originally put it, but that space is now a shoe cabinet! The good news is that I found my old matchbox and other makes' model cars, the bad news is that I didn't find the car system. Will do some more digging when I can talk to the person responsible for the shoe cabinet ;)

No rush. I got a cheap and dirty old amp hooked up so I can at least attach my iPhone for some tunes. Not pretty, but it'll work for now!

Sounds like my attic... I was up there looking for an old head unit that I KNOW is up there, but for all the baby toys and luggage and boxes of high school year books. Nope.
