Technical innovation is what makes Formula 1 so different from any other form of racing. The on track action is as much played out by the engineers and aerodynamicists as it is the drivers. We are here to admire, study, and discuss this beauty that exists on the ragged edge of what we think is possible, or at least what we thought was possible.
For more technical intrigue, be sure to check out this year's !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Testing Day 10 - Bahrain

Red Bull
Pitot tube testing the RB10.
Each team engineers and builds their own front wing lift. This is Red Bull's.
Apparently this could be for ERS cooling.
Red Bull's rear wing support on the centerline does not explicitly attach to the RB10's engine cover; it continues to mounts inside the cannon-style heat outlet that form around the exhaust outlet.
Nice view of the rear of the RB10, slightly larger central cooling outlet this week
Mercedes
Not sure what this dot on the front corner of the W05's sidepod is.
Mercedes have this horizontal vane between the wishbone and main turning vanes
Also note the two-into-one wishbone; I can only guess that this exists to reduce the aerodynamic impact on drag.
Making sure Lewis and Nico stop exactly in the right place.
Ferrari
Ferrari front wing that made its debut yesterday, seven outer elements!
Pitot tubes.
Ferrari have mounted a winglet just above the airbox inlet on their F14T, separate from the FIA cameras; it can be easier seen on the picture below
Lotus
The three stars on the front wing are to recognize the three Constructors Championships won by the Enstone-based team (Formerly Renault).
Lotus E22 T-tray detail.
McLaren
Eric Boullier all pressed and dressed for McLaren.
Note the bodywork on the front wing endplate (as highlighted).
Lots of extra cabling for McLaren around the steering rack (bottom) and AntiRollBar (gold nut)
Usefully McLaren allow a clear view of their Flowviz, read !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! timeline for commentS on what can be seen
McLaren seem to have flared out bodywork surrounding the rear crash structure of the MP4-29. This is most likely to better seal the effects of their !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Sauber
Sauber with pressure sensor pipe taped to the nose, I'm half expecting this car to sport an "S" duct come Melbourne

Seem to be very rushed additions given how anal they are about aerodynamics.
