Like I said in the horsepower/dollar article: I know the dart is a better car but I'll always pick the avenger over it. The avenger is better looking, has more power, is bigger, and is a better value. Generally, people like the looks of the dart or avenger, but not both. I think the dart is a lame duck design and I like the "Son of charger" look the Avenger has. The blacktop package looks good and when they're clogging up lots next year they're bound to have substantial rebates. Most people buy the biggest car they can afford, not necessarily the best. The fact that the Avenger can cannibalize so many dart sales should've sent a clear message to Chrysler: fix the Dart's pricing and/or styling or find a niche for the Avenger. The Avenger's R&D costs have been paid for and they've got to be pure profit for Chrysler. Getting rid of it won't put more people into Darts.
