What? Only BMWs Audis and Mercedes's with one Nissan.
This makes not sense to me.

This seems really wrong.

It makes perfect sense if you know the driver demographic and the cost to repair those vehicles...

How so?

I am amazed that the "least" list include THREE Wranglers!!! When I was young 'n single, they were nowhere near the the cheapest to insure.

Driver demographic is when I started laughing really hard, because you're right.
But what about Lamborghini, Maserati, Mclaren, Aston Martin, Ferrari?!

Makes perfect sense. It's the >>> Track <<< Edition, which pretty much guarantees it's going to be flogged and this will get damaged. The regular trim level GTRs don't make top 20, so the article seems kind of much ado about nothing.

Although they can certainly be expensive to repair, I bet most exotic owners take very, very good care of their vehicles.

At least on the cheap car side, I'm surprised how many of those are SUVs and trucks. I would think something like the Mazda 2 would be cheaper.

Most of those are garage queens. Very few claims made, so insurance companies don't often have to shell out for them.

That makes me sad and happy at the same time.

It's kind of like how its cheaper to insure, say, a Viper than an S2000.
![]() 02/27/2014 at 15:21 |

The Viper should be on the top of the list regardless.

Those are not common enough in most cases to make a solid data table for.

I guess that's only good news. Less money to pay for potential future me.

Hipsters buy Mazda 2's
Hipsters have bad credit.
If so facto Hipsters have high insurance rates on their Mazda 2's throwing the averages off.

When I was looking into buying a Quattroporte (before I bought the Audi) I got an insurance quote for almost $4,000 / yr. So I know cars like that aren't cheap, and they are also not reflected into lists like this. These over the top high end cars are not cars your 'average' person might buy either though.

"Young n' single"
Well there's your problem.

Yeah..that confuses me..last I checked , 4x4's in general are expensive to ensure, but who knows, maybe rolling over is cheaper then it used to be

I'm looking at Defenders partly because of the cheap insurance, same insurance group as a Fiat 500..!

Nice, I might try to convince my mum to look at Wranglers again now, she wasn't because insurance, and gas, but maybe this will convince her :) As long as I can keep her away from the mini vans.
