A few surprises in their list, and a few not-so-surprising.

Used cars squeak and rattle. That's what happens. I don't see any reason for that to put a car on this list.

I like how they post a picture of the current 6.7 PSD F250, and say "don't buy the 6.0". Because that won't mislead people....

Out of that whole list, I agree with the G.Cherokee, the G.Caravan and the Acadia. Only because I would'nt buy those new, either.

I can confirm for the 2009 Honda Accord having issues with brakes. My friend has one and sometimes in the cold winter, the brake simply don't work. The pedal just stays hard. Apparently the brake fluid was frozen. Honda did a full flush and the problem came back shortly after. Now he warms the car 10 minutes before leaving. The problem seems to be minimised but it sucks having such a problem and pay the car monthly while Honda refuses to acknowledge that there is an issue and that they gotta fix it for free. I also got a friend with a 335i as mentionned in the article and since I'm a dick, i'll laugh away when he'll have to fix it.

I like the fact that they gave you the specific years and details on what to look out for. This will be very helpful for future clients. Thanks for posting!

"...to avoid at all costs" - their entry page
"Aside from those (issues), the Camry remains a solid bet if you're buying used." - their page on the Camry

And unlike most of the rest, they don't list year - when it would be a simple matter.

Also pointed out in the comments that I somehow missed - they cite "warped head bolts". Huh?

Editing continuity fail.

And after each summery of why to avoid them, a link to a page to find one to buy.

Wow. How the hell does DOT 4/5 brake fluid freeze? (I assume that's what Honda uses) Unless there's moisture getting into the braking circuit? I've never heard of this before.. Maybe switching to a new type brake fluid?
Re the BMW; I guess this is not a *good* friend you're referring to? :)

Of course not, but some of the cars/trucks listed have a history of major issues. Squeaks and rattles just means turning up the radio.

Yeah that got my attention too. I'm guessing they meant to say stretched head bolts?

Probably using whatever stock photos were available. How many would know the difference on sight though? (other than hard core truck guys)

That's what I thought, that there was a way for humidity to go into the brake fluid, that's why I suggested him to change the cap and put full synthetic DOT3/4 brake fluid that will be resistant to lower temperatures. This is still unreal to me, honda might have a shitty fluid tho.
Hum....no.

Ah, irony...

Except for some of the years are every year since 2003. Fear mongering listicle is weak.

I love this, it proves what I've been saying for years: and that is German cars are not the worst.
