I know we have traffic jams as a place for daily music but I feel a late night post for when the roads are open and the traffic is low would also be appropriate.

So here's a song to help you let on the throttle just a tad.

Though I'd sooner trade the music for more races I must admit Dirt 2 and Dirt 3 had some good soundtracks.

Indeed, I loved the amount of racing the original Dirt had. 2 and 3 were sort of let downs (fun but short). Soundtracks are regularly played in my car though.

I'll let you in on a recently discovered secret. If you get a Euro copy of WRC 2 for the 360 it isn't region blocked. I got it a week ago and while it's lacking in some areas (like graphics, which even compared to the original DiRT are outdated) it's pretty fantastic. It has the entire WRC calendar (2011 calendar, so Jordan instead of Monte Carlo) with six rallies at each venue plus a super special at about half of them, pretty much the entire WRC field, WRC academy, PWRC, SWRC, Group B, and noticeably better physics. In "Road to the WRC" (career) mode you start off as a regional competitor with a limited budget and move up through the ranks of competition, managing the aspects of your team as you go. You name your own co-driver, crew chief, and manager, choose your car number, hire and fire mechanics and PR people (the PR people help negotiate sponsor contracts), buy and sell cars, do R&D upgrades on the cars, create custom liveries, even choose your license plate number. Driver/co-driver names, car number, and license plate number even show up in the correct location on all the cars, even when you're running the WRC cars. And you even get extensive tuning setup options during the rallies (something that's been missing since Dirt 2). I imported a used copy for less than $30, including shipping. It's bugged on me once or twice, but nothing major. Definitely worth the scratch.

Oh man, I had one of these WRC games on the PC and loved every second of it. Didn't know they made a 360 version though. Off to ebay/amazon!

It's like the proper Colin McRae Rally sequel we've all been wishing for! All this time those Euro bastards have been keeping it a secret from us!

I assume the newer versions of the WRC game are region locked on 360? And yea, the Dirt games are good fun but nothing like the old McRae games were.

Yep. 3 and 4 are locked, you'd have to get a Euro 360. I've heard rumors they're all unlocked on the PS3 though. I might end up getting a console now that people are starting to trade them in for PS4's.

I was thinking that as well, if only to play some glorious Gran Turismo (which I hear also has an ok rally mode).
