totally disregard this red light, (cross traffic was green) only to stop and the next red light. What was the point of that? To get T boned?

I saw a similar situation in Vanier eariler this week, on Monday night. The light turned red, but the car in front of me disregarded the signal and kept going, presumably crept forward with their torque converter..

Ha. This light was solidly red, I saw the cross signal it was green. They just never saw it I guess.

Running red lights seems to be Ottawa's "thing". I see it much more here than anywhere else.

Well, it's a terrifying thing to be good at.

Definitely a bug, not a feature.

Almost as terrifying as people coming to a complete stop while trying to merge onto the highway which seems to be Newfoundland's thing.
