Kinja'd!!!

This one is now ours! Will be delivered coming friday. It's a 2011 Citroën C4 1.6 HDi, with 73k km on the odo. It has the "Business" package, so parking radar, navigation, dual zone climate control and more convenience/luxury goodies. It's quite a bit more car than the 2001 Xsara Coupé VTR we have now, even though the size is roughly comparable.

Earlier today ...

Nice. And the Xsara coupe's under-rated as well. Both are on my long list of nice or great value cars I might buy at some point.

Do you have any idea if the new diesels with DPFs (or FAPs, since it's a Citroen) still have the problems with clogging up in urban driving?

I dunno. It's the co-developed DV6D engine, PSA Citroën together with Ford of Brittain, which Ford calls the DLD-416. Does that engine clog the particulate filter?

The point is kinda moot (soot??) for me because I commute some 35 to 40 minutes, mostly at highway speeds.

I think pretty much all the early DPF cars did, and I haven't really kept up with the story since. I thought you might have researched it before buying, but given your commute there's no reason you would.

I've been looking into it lately because I'm about to start a new 35 to 40 minute commute, all of which will be in stop-start traffic. Diesel fuel economy would be nice, but there's no way the DPF will get a long run to burn things off.

Very nice. In terms of equipment it must be like an S-Class after the Xsara! May it be a faithful and enjoyable companion.

C'est vrais!

Normal temperature controlled airco (broken) is now dual zone airco. I've got a color display for media and navigation now. I've got cruise control now. The dash is half analogue dials and half digital display, which I can also change in color now. Build-in bluetooth connection for phone, and so on. It's a big step up.

What can I say? It's Citroën! Design-wise they got their mojo back, they've put out a string of great looking cars in the last few years.
