While watching the 1993 24 Hours of Daytona on youtube while I attempted to kill myself through a thousand cuts to my hands, it was brought to my attention that the world's first 24 hour race was held in Columbus, Ohio.

Little known fact: the 24 Hours of Driving Park didn't start out as a race. It began as a convoy of residents from Columbus who were trying to flee Ohio as fast as their cars could carry them. Unfortunately, the lead car got lost in Driving Park and it too the other members of the convoy an entire day to realize they had been driving in circles.
