So motherfucking pissed right now all this work all this effort every weekend driving 3 hours after work on Friday to Fort Worth and back to Austin on Sunday night (3 hours) before I work on monday morning waking up at 6am .. FOR NOTHING!
I applied for PTO my manager and all my co workers have heard me talk about nothing else but this event for the past 6 months .. and I didnt get approved .. Why you ask (and so did I) Because my manager is taking off the entire fucking week to go to Mardi Gras .. so there for non of the people below him can take off that week ..
He even had the audacity to ask me if I can just go the following week.. Bah Ffftt Shhh pffft ha .. Yea I can physically go to Houston the week after but it would be pointless.
Fuck everyone right now .
Secondly I have this big dick wing / 3 piece wing for my car but A: I have never done body work or have a clue how to and rather not fuck it up trying to learn and B: I'm not exactly sure I'm in love with it .. What are your thoughtsOppo ..

This reminds me of a time when my boss didn't want to approve my only vacation days in two years of working there, because I wanted to go on my honeymoon. He asked if I could be flexible and on-call the whole time...

Yeah... I was ready to walk out on that one, decent as it was, but they eventually gave it to me and I left a year later.

I worked at a place that had an unwritten rule of no vacations in the first quarter of the year, because of no particularly good reason, but the justification was that this was the time of year when our business made the most money so nobody should be taking time off.
This of course wasn't in any handbook, just that managers have to approve time off. I had never heard anything about this "rule," so my gf at the time and me, we booked this whole week long vacation to Vegas, for the last week of February, because this is Wisconsin and that's the time of year when the winter has made you stir crazy and you want to get hell out of town.
I brought the time off request form to my manager and he was like "uhh I dunno, this might be tricky what with it being the first quarter." I'm like "what's wrong with the first quarter?" Then I got to have a meeting his boss who goes "with how long you've worked here you should know better about not taking vacation in the first quarter," and spent all this time talking about how the first quarter is "prime time" for our business.
I basically told him that if this rule is nowhere in the handbook and I've never asked about taking a vacation in the first quarter of the year, then how could I have known about this rule that's not actually a rule? He approved the time off as an "exception" with a warning that I was never for the rest of the time I worked there to take any kind of vacation from January thru March.
Damn I'm glad I don't work there anymore.

That sucks, but to be honest when I saw the headline I was terrified the datsun had blown up or something.

Ouch. Luckily for me I live in Houston, so I am able to take off for Mardi Gras and go to TX2K. I'm guessing you work weekends since most of the events are then.
