Some of these actually look really good, especially the second and third pictures.

Those aren't real outbacks.
This is a real outback. The proportions are all wrong on yours....

I think a lowered outback is called a legacy wagon................(I can keep going)........
Seriously, why lower a raised version of the same car?

because finding an un-abused L-GT wagon is hard, but Outback 2.5 XTs are fairly available?

Wrong direction. Should be more like this:

Here's a few I found when I was contemplating buying a new Outback. I wanted to swap over the Legacy suspension and bumper cover to try and make a new Legacy wagon.

I want an Outback now...
Are these all Outback Limiteds? Or what is the best year to look for? I need a DD and these look sweet, plus AWD, plus Subaru.
And are these mostly coilovers? Or the typical cut springs/lowering springs?

Just to incite a little more loathing, not only do I own a new gen outback, but I also own one of these:
Bwahahahahahahahaha!

Lowered FXTs are better

I hate that on Kinja 1.2 you have to click a comment to "open" it before it can be recommended, BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT.

agreed, just not that generation, The Angry Toaster

seems most of these are just using Legacy GT suspension, and removing various spacers that the Outback gets to raise them from the factory

why not have both? :D

I think, and this is based soley on the comments in the various threads, it has a lot to do with that being the car they haoppen to own.
Also, style, different bumper and side panels.
most of them were lowered on legacy and Legacy GT suspension so in essence thats all they are

I wanted my ex to do this so bad with her Forrester, but she was too attached to "Suby."

I'm not going to hate, if I could afford a brand new Subaru I probably would have one. I don't care if I do think the styling is lacking compared to the older generations, it's still a nice new car that others cannot compare to. But I'm not a huge fan of the Acura, but that's and oh well thing.

I feel like I have to constantly defend it...but if you drove mine (with the manual and the 3.7L AWD) you might change your mind. It is nice and fast and fun.
You can't see the beak from the inside....

No use in really defending it, if you like it it's all that matters. Plus I would assume the inside is nice and for a daily commute that is great.
