Finally got some more work done on my '93 945 turbo. Background info and more pics are !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I got the rear suspension all buttoned up and new brake lines installed. Front struts are rebuilt and waiting to be installed. I still need to rebuild all 4 calipers with new seals and press in last two bushings into front strut rods. I'm hoping to get it finished this week. Onto the pics!
Rear suspension as pulled from the brick:
Torque rods pulled from the car:
After sandblasting:
Clearcoated and new bushings installed:
Back on the car:
Sandblasted trailing arms:
Powdercoated trailing arms:
Old springs vs. new IPD overload springs (30% stiffer)
Old vs. new stainless steel brake lines:
All back on the car and torqued down:

I was seriously worried when I first opened this up that it was sitting on paint cans... Than I saw the jack stands. Nice work so far though. I like the build and have always been a fan of Volvos

What? You don't use paint cans to support a car? :)
Nah, there is a bottle sitting on top of it that was collecting the brake fluid from the hose after I took off the caliper. I was just too lazy to move it to take a pic.

Thanks! I cannot wait for the payoff when I get this thing back on the road.

Beautiful, man! Any reason you didn't powder coat the torque rods?

Good question. I've been stockpiling parts for a while, and I usually buy when there's a sale or free shipping. My best guess is:
Shocks/struts $200
SS brakelines $150
Rear springs $125
Bushings $50
Caliper rebuild parts $50
Sway bar endlinks $30
Tie-rod ends $30
Ball joints $40
Sand blasting $80
Powdercoating $180
So, looks to be a little more than $900. Damn, that is more than I thought. Hope my wife doesn't see this, and that doesn't even include the 12-ton press I bought to press all the bushing in and out. If you cut out the powdercoating and unnecessary parts I bought like the brake lines and new rear springs, you could easily do it for less than $500.

Wow, wish I had access to that. The Hayne's manual just doesn't cut it. :)

To my surprise, they are aluminum. I thought the bare aluminum looked cooler than if I had them powdercoated them black with the rest of the suspension. So, I just bought some rattle can clear-coat and called it a day.

That is surprising.

All the right things doing!
Have you heard of this Volvo parts tuner Snabb?
I come from the northern land of eternal Volvo's (Ithaca), in spite of one of America's biggest salt mines under the lake. So naturally I guess it spawned this Volvo tuner that seems to bridge a lot of gaps in turbo brick performance.
Great guys to talk to they were going to help me on some custom piping for my dsm they do it cuz they love it.

Dear sir, do you have a build thread somewhere else like Tbricks? You are basically doing everything I want to do to my 745. =D

I do not yet, but I need to start one. I'm Brewman15 over on Turbobricks.
