Just quoted thru geico. I'm 23, and unmarried. The rep says it's due to a few violations I got in 2013 apparently, and apologized for it...

Might want to shop that around. I only pay about $900/year on the Phaeton through Progressive.

Cause being married makes you more responsible... Especially if you are married cause you knocked up your prom date.

They were all around that amount...

I'm 19, and I think I spend 90 a month on insurance for my '93 MR2. I've been with progressive for 3 years now though, so I definitely paid something like 150 a month when I started.
Paying almost 1/3 of what you spent on your car in insurance per year should be illegal.

It's actually 1/3 for what I paid for it. It was 600 dollars

But it's all the other injury and property damage stuff that is costly.

That just makes me feel slimy. Who is your insurance provider?

Geico

Quotes on progressive are really easy.

Is it old enough for antique plates? Illinois offers EA plates (extended antique) as well as regular AV plates, though AV limits you to weekends, car shows, and repair trips. $138.50 for 6 months:

Get a newer one like the W202 that has more safety shit which can get you a better discount

Yep. I'm at 30/60/90 for that rate. If I wanted full comprehensive? 300-350 a month or so.

Ouch...

Squeaky clean record! It's discrimination.

$127/month for a 23 year old with a spotty driving history doesn't sound bad to be, assuming you are getting decent coverage (you should).

Sounds about right with a few violations... I pay almost $90/month through Progressive and I'm 24.

Meanwhile, 24, unmarried engineer with one speeding ticket, driving Jeep and motorcycle in Michigan.... About $600/year.
Almost makes up for the harassment, casual misogyny, and all the other fun parts of not being a man!

It is! God forbid you made the same judgements based on age, gender, marital status, place of residence... when applying for a job or schools.

Lol. thats good in comparison. Im at 160 a month for the lude. And i have nothing on my record. Its all because im male, and 21... Also being in nj doesnt help either.

Through where? I'm a 26 year old engineer in Michigan driving just a jeep, and I pay slightly more than that.

Yeah, but once a year you have to fight Flo like the Rancor.

You better shop around. Shop shop, shop around....

GEICO, basic coverage. If you also lack a Y chromosome, I'm not sure why yours are higher. If you possess a Y chromosome, chances are you're making more than me anyway so it might even out!

Nothing says responsibility quite like surprise, I'm pregnant, but let's wait until after graduation to tie the knot.

I do indeed have a Y chromosome. Engineering seems to be one of the places that is unbiased, or actually likes those that don't from what I've seen. Especially automotive.
