Kinja'd!!!

Today was a good day.

Swapped the 35 watt HID's in my dart out for some 4600k-ish (chinese QC) 55 watt versions of same. 55 watt HID bulbs are exceptionally good versus the standard kit. They bring the brightness up to acceptable levels. Not to worry. They are behind proper ellipsoids, drivers have been tolerant and the cutoff is sharp. For the love of god don't look directly into them at the relatively low eye level though. I did. And am still seeing stars.

I also looked at some cars. A 2004 rx-8 with 46k miles. six speed manual. High output. Very well kept. For 6500.

A restored 1981 range rover. manual. Subdued lime green fit for a Queen. For 5500

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . This last one could be a troublesome one for me. I love german V8's. Especially wrapped in these clothes. It would make the least sense in terms of overall utility to go with this versus the rover, and the lesser sense to go with this versus the Rex in terms of sheer fun factor. But it would sound the coolest with a performance exhaust (Yes yes, no disrespect to the rotary either. I'm bi-combustual, ok?).

And a 1977 530i. Rust free. Looks like it's had a minor resto go over with some extra bits included. The second in the four speed manual club after the rover. For 3250

Tomorrow, taxes. Return will determine which and at what cost.

As a sidenote, I REALLY love car shopping in this region. Very much stuff. Such wow.

Lol. My exact thoughts upon seeing the lead photo were "omg I have no idea what that is. Maybe a Matra Murena? Is that even a real car name or am I making that up?"

Hah! Turns out I'm smarter than I know.
