I JUST bought a Lesneys Volvo 745 on ebay. Weather seems to be keeping it in a mailroom in South Dakota though.

I'd love to find one of those. The detailing and number of models is surprising for the relatively small company that Matchbox was at the time.

I paid 7 bucks for the damn thing. It's my favorite Volvo though so I don't regret it. They really did pay a lot of attention to detail though which is cool.

I'd look at that Monteverdi again. If it's like mine, and it looks exactly the same, then it's an English made, Lesney product. I'm old enough that the majority of my Matchbox collection is Lesney. Anything that's not British, is not as good, IMHO.

In elementary school I used to collect these, still have some, I have the same white Mustang, with that thing under it where you could turn the wheels, pretty cool for the time. I still have about 50 Lesney cars laying around somewhere.

That Monteverdi is definitely a Lesney...I have one too (although not quite as nice). Also have the D-Type (in purple) and the Kojak Buick on the right.
