It's free so I tried it out and so far I'm liking it. Darktable is like an alternative to Lightroom.

Have you used Lightroom or Aperture? If so, how does it stack up?
I keep meaning to get off Aperture and use Lightroom (I have both through work), but I had a bad experience with Lightroom 2 and reluctant to go back.

I haven't tried Aperture but I have used Lightroom 5 and I still think LR is better, although this one is free.

Free is a good selling point.
