The Levorg is "WRX based" since they are trying to split it from the Impreza line. But as it sits now, not for US consumption, and CVT only. Levorg in reverse is Grovel, like I am am for this.

No, not Legacy.

It is basically a wagon-ified WRX, which is based on 2012-current Impreza.

It may have a rear overhang more like Outback wagon, overseas Legacy Wagon, and Forester, but everything ahead of the rear wheels is likely WRX.

Not to say that 2012+ Impreza didn't use some of the updates from the 2010+ Outback/Legacy, on a shorter wheelbase and narrower track... which WRX/Levorg's wide-body gained back.

But it's lineage traces to current Impreza and previous Legacy, rather than current or new 2015 Legacy/Outback platform.

Jack that blue one up to XV-Crosstrek height, and sell it in the US as XV-Sport or whatever you want to call it... (with the XV Crosstrek rear quarter glass and hatch, and shorter rear overhang likely... can't step on Outback or Forester's toes... :rolleyes: )

CVT only is a damn shame, but since it's not for the US I don't care. I really want a hatchback WRX but if I manage to make it to the release date without getting a new car, I might consider the sedan.

Shorter rear overhang, higher ride-height...

XV Crosstrek Turbo... CAFE slated as "Light Truck" as a CUV.

Levorg is not tall enough for that, so would be a "passenger car" and judged more harshly on fleet fuel economy stats... with a thirstier turbo engine. Not likely to happen in the US. XV side-steps that with a lower fleet-economy threshold.

CAFE is a big reason there are not many low-height wagons left in the US, and lots of taller CUVs... government over-regulation with a double-standard on fuel economy.
