.22 is nigh impossible to get up here in Minnesota...

Nice. I had the chance to run a few clips through my dad's 1911 Gold Cup Trophy. It's probably the nicest thing I've ever shot with.

My Auto Ordinance is just now broken in. It was getting better and better every shot. Only jammed 3 times.

I don't think his is broken in yet - the slide wouldn't return forward all the way most times it was shot. I think the assembly grease was to blame for this.

ooo fantastic.
Haven't shot one of those before, I normally shoot with my sister when I go to SC (shes a sheriff's deputy). I typically shoot her glock .40, but I typically shoot the S&W .40 better. I've also shot a .45 she has, and I can't think of the brand, though I sincerely enjoyed shooting the .45. She also has an assault rifle which is insanely fun to shoot.

The 45 was a Sig! I just remembered.
I shot quite well with it. S&W .40 is still my favorite I've shot though, just because I was more consistent with aim.

The Sig was probably a 1911.

Oh yeah?
Cool. It was very fun to shoot. My wife loves coming to the range with us too. We've discussed getting some of our own.

It's quite satisfying.

::sigh::
This is what makes me sad.
Back in the good old days, I used to spend 2000-3000rds easily at a sitting. Now I don't even remember the last time I got to go shooting.

Or anywhere else, for that matter. My LM7 is hungry.

Gander Mountain released an ad in the newspaper with some .22 for sale on their website; it had already sold out by the time I got the ad. The only ammo that doesn't seem to have gone up in price is shotgun ammo.

You need to try one of these...
If 10mm had been around when John Moses Browning was, that's what he would have picked for the 1911.

10mm is still around the same price. I haven't bought much ammo recently... both broke, and I reload. Still working on setting up a progressive reloader dedicated for 5.56, as well as dies for swaging our own bullets. Been reloading 10mm and .300WM for quite some time now.
It blows, because I can easily go through a few thousand in 5.56 or .22 in a sitting with the M16. Even Walmart's 5.56 Tul ammo is pricey, and 250ish for 1000 is about the cheapest you'll find. I used to buy Wolf ammo for 80-90 per K.

It's sad when it's easier to "plink" with 7.62x54r than it is with .22....

I really need to get to the range and get some more trigger time on my Shield and Five-Seven... but I'm obsessed with protecting my ammo supply still and have been covered in snow.
Maybe I can carve out some time this weekend and even drag my .308 out.
