Kinja'd!!!

So last weekend I ended up having to drive to DFW then back to Austin on saturday and back to DFW Saturday night with the car in tow and then back to Austin Sunday so I could be at work monday .. The 3 hour drive to and from DFW to Austin is getting so normal to me that its like the drive to work in the morning .. No big deal .

This weekend was a weekend for progress ! The car was already in Fort Worth at the shop so I didnt have to worry about any logistics except for getting myself to and fro . Friday night I showed up ready to rip the L28e from its home where its been for a solid 38 years unfortunately my buddy that was supposed to help and is helping with the entire LS swap couldnt find a baby sitter #fuckbabies .

Kinja'd!!!

SATURDAY was the actual day for progress .. Woke up and to my surprise Eric (The mechanic) had bought a heater .. after going all winter with no heater in the shop we finally get one and it being Texas what do you think happened ? Right , it ended up being 70 degrees and sunny perfect weather if I do say so myself .

First place of business was removing the hood and then we dug into the motor unhooking , unclipping, and tried our best not to clip any wire and keep everything intact. We did a pretty good job because now we have a L28E with a 105,xxx miles for sale . After we got the motor pulled at EXACTLY 4:20 a bowl was in order .. after smknabowl I ran to Autozone and snagged some engine degreaser and some black Rhino line along with a can of metallic gold paint .. One of the most exciting and cool things about this car is incorperating things like the intake box that came stock on the car with the new LS Swap .. the air scoop being baby blue stock is now GOOOOOOLLLD .. everything else is either black rhino liner or black high temp crinkle paint which looks great !

now we just wait for the tax return to buy mounts and put her in .. I want to thank IDROVEATRUCKONCE for letting me use his Jeep while my cars down . I was asked the other day how do you keep finding a way to get to work or have something to drive and my answer is simple .. "I'm a car guy , I know car people , Car people help eachother out , Especially if its in regards to double the power of something"

Without Oppo I wouldn't have the jeep to drive while my cars down so thanks to Oppo as well.

Awesome. I've had a 240 and early 260z in high school. Love the car and it taught me a lot about fixing stuff and driving in general. LS engines are a love as well, so I'd like to get another someday and do the swap. I'd love to see some corner weights when your project is all said and done.

My next project is a LS build. I'll be building the engine, then finding a chassis for it. An early Z is one of my options (along with FC RX7, S13, and anything else I think would be a good idea).

First gen Rx7 would be epic .. so would a miata cause thats always the answer around here .. and I'd love to see a FRS with a ls in it but unless you find one totalled because the motor was blown which I really dont think the FRS is old enough to be totalled by a blown motor ... but What if ?

I'll have to catch the Texas True 10.5 guys at the track to get corner weight if I get it I'll post it no problem .

We'll probably end up seeing some just because of all the idiots who throw on a turbo and boost it up to 11 without any supporting modifications...

I think the FRS/BRZ would be a tough find, since they could always find an old EJ and toss it in there for $2500 or less. And if I did find one, it would probably be out of my price range. It would be sweet though.

Hadn't really thought about 1st gen RX7, but might be nice with some fender flares. Same for Miata. Though both those cars are pretty small, and I'd like a bit more space. My 944 already makes me feel claustrophobic with the cage/seat in it.

I'm 6,1 and have plenty of room in the datsun I think that would be a smart bet for you ..

do you think a blown motor would total a FRS or BRZ ?

Probably not. Everything on that car is built pretty cheap. Its not a bad thing, just true.
