Hopefully we will still have Jay Leno's Garage. I know that show ended up being produced by NBC, but it's too good to end now.

This just paves the way for Top Gear : Jay Leno, featuring Jay Leno as Jay Leno.

I'd watch it.

I personally don't want to see his collection destroyed in staged accidents.

I am in a really depressed mood because of this. I enjoy Jimmy Fallon, but there's nothing more rewarding than spending 60 minutes with Jay. Nothing.

Thankfully, he's a workaholic. He'll be back at something meaningful in absolutely no time at all. Just, tge end of an era.

Who did he hand off to this time, and how long before he takes it back from them?

Leno will never do anything like Top Gear as a host.

He said as much when they were looking for hosts for TGUSA. Cars are his hobby. His hobby is fun. He does not want it to become work.

Who says it will be destroyed? Top Gear generally don't respect and don't crash the valueable cars.

I used to watch the Tonight Show pretty religiously when I was in HS, or home for summer breaks. Faded away from it, but I always liked Leno. Recorded the show last night...probably will watch it this weekend at one point or another.

He's doing a standup gig here in Durham in March...maybe I should go.

Jimmy Fallon is moving to the Tonight Show, and Seth Meyers, from SNL, is taking Late Night.

"there's nothing more rewarding than spending 60 minutes with Jay"

I honestly do not get this sentiment. I respect him greatly as a car guy, but I just do not find him funny. I hope Fallon gets to keep his show very much as it is in the new time slot. All the best to Jay - hope he focuses all his efforts on making Jay Leno's garage even more successful than it is. With that, and Seinfeld's series, it's a good time for a car guy.

You know, you gotta admit he's definitely NOT a "funny" comedian, and he's absolutely NOT the kind of guy who has bits that I howl at. But his demeanor is so friendly and warm to the point where I just don't care. My day is a pinch better when I decide to sit down and watch him. That's some tough billing for Fallon to live up to in my book, honestly.

Interesting take - never thought of him that way - that some people are just looking for some "friendly company" before they hit the sack. I can see why Conan was too much to take for many. I think he's smart and funny, most of the time, but if you're looking for a friend to hang out with, he's not the guy.

Fallon is such a child at heart, and that comes through every time I watch him.

Hooray for replying to myself here....oh well.

I watched the final show a little while ago, and I've got to say, it struck a chord with me. I'm not sure why, but I think it was kind of a weird coming of age moment...even though I'm 27.

Hear me out...Jay Leno was the host of The Tonight Show for the last 22 years. (We're excluding the Conan fiasco here.) That means, for as long as I can really remember watching TV, Jay Leno was always the host of The Tonight Show. So...this is kind of something different. Sure, I haven't watched the show much since HS, but still, its an end of an era.
